Term 4, Weeks 1 & 2

Te wahanga whakamutunga o te tau

Ngā mihi o te wā ki a koutou katoa. Kua timata kē mātou ko ngā tamariki o te Akomanga 23 i te wahanga whakamutunga mō tēnei tau, heoi, hui nui tonu ā mātou mahi me mahia e mātou.

Wow, term 4 already and although it's the last term we still have lots of mahi to get through before we end 2016.

Titiro mai ki ētahi o ā mātou mahi i ēnei wiki e rua. Look at some of the mahi we have done in the past 2 weeks :)

St John's
Matua Vau from St John's came and taught us a few things about first aid. The kids really enjoyed Matua Vau and took away some good lessons.

We learnt the steps to how we would help someone with a cut or gash.
Plug it
Lift it up (above the heart)
Wrap it

Hanga Hanawiti - Making Sandwiches

Our focus for tuhituhi is tuhi tohu/ procedural writing and what better way to learn the order of the steps and language needed for tuhi tohu then to make the sandwiches themselves. All the tamariki enjoyed making their hanawiti, but enjoyed eating it much more.
Tēnā, titiro mai!

Who said learning can't be YUM!!

But that's not it!! We also had our running races for Athletics too. We were proud of EVERYONE in our class who gave it a go and had fun trying too. Was such an awesome morning/afternoon cheering on our friends from our whānau as well as all the other classes too.

Whaea Camille was too busy cheering on all the tamariki and only managed to get these few photos, heoi anō, still very proud of all the tamariki who participated in any or all of the events!!
Mauri tū, mauri ora!

Our kaupapa for Pāngarau has been around Volume and Capacity. We decided to learn through play. Was awesome to see and hear the tamariki discussions during this pāngarau session.
Mātakitaki mai.

So this is just a few things from the past 2 weeks at kura. No rest for the wicked but we wouldn't have it any other way.

Mauri ora ki a tātou katoa.
